Today at Fort Smallwood Park, both a Swallow-tailed Kite and a
Mississippi Kite made appearances! The Swallow-tailed Kite came by
first at 11:15 a.m., and at 12:40 p.m. the Mississippi Kite showed up.
The M.Kite was an immature; I don't have all the details on the S. Kite.
This is the second M.Kite of the season and the second ever S. Kite.
Otherwise, raptor numbers have been modest.

Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at

the mouth of the Patapsco River, about 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD.
All numbers are unofficial.
