While we managed to scare up an Orchard Oriole, Blue Grosbeak, Yellow and Blackpoll Warblers, and FOUR Willow Flycatchers, our most interesting bir= d was a single, vocalising, male Bobolink. This individual was singing from an exposed perch at the end of a hedgero= w - it had the look of territory marking. No others were seen, female or otherw= ise. I note that both the Yellow Book and the Howard County guide make no ment= ion of Boblink nestings, so it might be worthwhile keeping an eye on this area. For those who "do" Meadowbrook, the Bobolink was seen at the very end of = the road that goes straight back from the initial low marshy area.
