Thanks for looking up the historical records. If any of the Stilt Sandpiper shots that I took are recognizable, I will send you an image. This is the Harney Pond bird seen on Sunday, May 21. Gwen and I also had about 8 Dicksessels (4 singing) along Cap Stine Road in Frederick Sunday, May 21 about 3 PM. I hope some of these birds are successful but there was a lot of alfalfa and rhy grass where they were singing that are likely to be harvested in the next three weeks. Maybe DNR could save some habitat for these animals or the Agricultural Extension department could educate the farmers. Also, maybe Marshall or someone could census this population. It is the most Dicksessel I have encountered in some time in Maryland. Maybe an invasion year and they will show up in Charles. If I find any, I will let the world know. The Black-billed Cuckoos at Blair Valley were at treat on Saturday, May 20. We missed the Golden-winged Warblers but I may go back this Sunday. I want to photograph the birds. Thanks for your help at the convention. See you outside some where.
