By the dam end a couple flyover CORMORANTS were eay to pick out against the blue sky. Most exciting was a female OLDSQAUW diving and feeding near the dam. An unusual time to be seen here in the peidmont! Along the wooded side of the lake were both ORIOLE species. A HOODED WARBLER by the wood duck pond, a couple singing OVENBIRDS and YELLOW-THROATED VIREO.( Hopefully these guys can raise some young!) A CHAT was singing happily from the hillside at the wildlife end = along with WILLOW FLYCATCHERS and WARBLING VIREO. A single SPOTTED SANDPIPER was bobbing along on the mud.
