Frederick State Park and Big Pool area for re-enactment. Rain all day on Sat, but we went on a battle against the French. This is a French and Indian War event. Sunday morning at 6am, overcast sky, went birding around Big Pool and canal trail and had about 40-45 species. Sunday mid morning, went to Lilypons Rd for Loggerhead Shrike, couldn't find it, later went to Lilypons Nursery and got Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Killdeer, Spotted Sandpiper, among few other birds and went back to check for shrike again. but couldn't find it again, went to Oland Rd and got some Bobolink, 1 or 2 Grasshopper Sparrow and few others, and again try for shrike, found the bird after spends 8 minutes scanning the trees near the well cap, this bird was on a tree in light rain. The first two try was during heavy rain and no rain. Got about 20-25 species total for nursery and both roads. Might have time to get full list tonight, still busy on Hawk Watch project.
