It appears to be a young white-winged of some species, but is in horrific condition (as are most gulls still around that area) with excessive molt and wear. It has been in the same spot for over a week now, so is probably summering there. There was also a male Canvasback there, not injured, but obviously beyond flight, as he flapped his severely molted wings often. Wouldn't mind having some others' opinions as to the gull's identity. Keeping in mind that i am severely gull-challenged, it could even be some bizarre herring gull. But if it is, i give up!
