Here are the directions: DeLorme Atlas, page 27, B4: From the town of Girdletree, head east on Taylor's Landing Road. After the intersection with Bayview Road, continue about another 1/2 mile and then turn right on the dirt road to enter E.A. Vaugh WMA. (There is a white house on the south side of the road with a pond, near this turn). The entrance is marked by signs indicating "waterfowl habitat". Park by the large tree(s?). To the east, you will see two ponds with a place to walk between them. The north pond is open water and there are lots of shorebirds in there (including about 15 Glossy Ibis). The south pond has lots of vegetation in it, making viewing more difficult. This is where the bird was seen today--in the southwest corner of the pond. -------------------------------- Fran Saunders Web Site Director Maryland Ornithological Society Silver Spring, Maryland webmaster@mdbirds.org http://www.MDBirds.org/ ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
