Saavedra" Subject: Rock Creek from Cedar to Knowles I have been birding the segment of Rock Creek Park between Knowles and Cedar (particularly the footpaths between Westbrook and Franklin, near the Grovesnor Metro), mostly because I live a block away. I don't go expecting large lists, but an early morning or near dusk walk often yields a few good birds. For example, a Black-crowned Night Heron made its appearance yesterday close to dusk as did a Kingfisher (and I almost always see or hear Carolina Wren). I had given up birding the hiker-biker trail because of large crowds at times, but I found the footpaths are sufficiently removed and one can bird the trees across the creek productively. If anybody birds this area with any regularity or lives nearby and wants to try it, please contact me. I'd love to compare notes or to join another birder once in a while. ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
