I was hoping to find the Sandwich Terns reported earlier, but had no luck with that. I did see the large collection of Royal and Common Terns, Black Skimmers, 11 Brown Pelicans, 10-12 Red Knot, an equal number of Turnstones, 2 Black-Bellied Plovers and Sanderlings. I was surprised by the lack of herons or egrets there compared to the last time I was there in April. Also stopped by West Ocean City Pond. Mores herons and egrets there including GB, 5 LB (3 in 'splotchy' plumage), 1 Louisiana Heron, several Black Crowned Nights and 1 immature Yellow Crowned Night Herons. A nice diversion, just wish I had all day to go onto Eagle Nest, Assateague, Vaughn, etc etc. Glen Lovelace III Seaford, DE glovelace@mail.dot.state.de.us ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
