It was almost like being there. I am so envious. ------------------ Thank You, Darlene :) I truly have had a most memorable incredible week that I will treasure in my heart forever. :) Yesterday, a fellow birder from Baltimore came down to see if he could take pictures and though they were easy to see, I'm afraid the lighting in the camera wasn't too great. :( However, we did get to see the adult feed one of the babies very, very clearly. You could see the adult pulling the food apart and placing it in the baby's mouth. A couple of crows also ~HAD~ to harrass one of the adults, and as the crows were chasing it, the adult flew right by the baby. The baby just watched the whole thing in awe.. the crows never came close to the babies, nor do I know if they saw the babies.. They also didn't touch the adult owl either. WHEW ! :) Tonight, I braved that horrid humidity trying to beat the storm ...that never got here ! I scanned and scanned for about 15-20 minutes..but saw nothing....so just as I was getting ready to head back, I sensed 'someone' looking at me..or felt a presence...I looked around and then something made me look really high up almost above me, and there was that little rascally baby crouching down, stretching his little neck as far as he could looking at me !!! I saw him very clearly w/o my binocs but then put them on him and with the most innocent, inquisitive BIG beautiful eyes just kept watching me. His little head was bopping all over the place making clockwise circles. I waved at him... and blew kisses at him.... SO I'm a little slap happy silly !!! :) I just feel soo connected to these little guys ! But, as for the adults, I think they just tolerate me. ;) Carol Garza in Howard County ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
