This reminds me of the days when I worked at the Marriott Suites hotel in Bethesda. The building was a favorite perch for vultures during Spring and Fall; probably migrants roosting on the highest spot in the immediate area. These vultures would perch on railings outside the guest room windows and peck at their reflections on the mirrored finish windows. Some of the guests were amused, yet others were concerned about the hygiene of these birds (they also left a mess on the pool area glass roof that had to be power washed weekly). The most intense reactions were from people from cultures that viewed vultures as a bad omen and would awaken to one tapping at their window at first light. We actually had one guest leave, screaming, and had to go pack her belongings and deliver them to her new hotel. As for myself I appreciated the opportunity to view them from only a few inches away.
