We also went along Cap Stine Road and saw or heard six Dickcissels from about the 4500 to 4300 blocks, several gave excellent views on the roadside wires. Heard a Willow FC at about the 4800 block. Lots of Brown Thrashers about. Had a Cooper's Hawk take a Redwing along Lilypons Rd., near the shrike spot, creating a huge commotion amongst all the Starlings and Blackbirds. However, we dipped on Grasshopper Sparrows and Vesper Sparrow. Our visitor is especially keen to see the latter -- any help would be greatly appreciated! I will be posting a "help please" list in another post, hopefully we can catch up with some of these wanted species for our friend. Cheers, Gail Mackiernan and Barry Cooper ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
