Hello all,

Made a quick run to the Eastern Shore today. Highlights were:

* Groups of 2 and 3 Brown Pelicans flying over the Kent Narrows bridge
heading south at 3:30. None were on the breakwall, and the flyovers were
very high.

* Moorhen at Tanyard as always

* 2 Ruddy Ducks at Easton (I have seen Ruddy Ducks in late May-June 2000 in
Garrett, Talbot, Queen Anne's, Kent, Worcester, Dorchester, Caroline)

* 4 Ruddy Ducks and the same two Snow Geese at Hurlock WWTP

* At least 4 pairs of Black-necked Stilts at Elliott Island. One of the
pairs in the large pool on the right as you enter the marsh had 2 downy
babies- adorable. The second year of confirmed nesting at Elliott. Other
highlights were Blue-winged Teal (1 male), Northern Harrier (one), Saltmnarsh
Sharp-tailed Sparrow, plus the regulars.

I looked at 5 likely Dickcissel fields and went 0/5. The lower shore is not
the Dickcissel zone though, and I hardly eked into Queen Anne's/Caroline
where they can be easier to find.

Am off for some boat-related exploration this weekend...

Best,

Marshall Iliff
