MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Hi folks, Went to the Old Legislative Road field 3 times this week, and 8 pm last night was the charm! I heard at least 5 Henslow's, got poor glimpses of 2, before finaly having a satisfactory, albeit short look at one. The large number of Grasshopper Sparrows there has increased to about 6 or 7 gazillion. I was afraid I was stepping on the things! Pretty spooky how if you stand still and listen to them chip, they can approach to within about 8 feet without being visible! I was just hearing the chipping get closer, and closer, and closer. It was like John Williams score for Jaws - good thing they don't bite! Other birds: Wild Turkey Barn Swallow Tree Swallow Chimney Swift chipping, field, vesper Sparrows Common Yellowthroat 20+ Eastern Meadowlarks, including the one with the weird song, again. enough Indigo Buntings to feed a small family Prairie Warbler Good day Charlie ===== **************************************** Charlie Muise, Naturalist Frostburg, Maryland, USA And it came to pass that in the hands of the ignorant, the words of the Bible were used to beat plowshares into swords - Alan Wilson Watts __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
