I glanced over and was delighted to see a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH walking and bobbing along the deck rail! I assume he was investigating the flurry of morning activity at the feeders and birdbath. The little glass dish of worms (I put these out for the mockingbird each morning) was a few feet from him on the rail but he didn't seem interested. He flew into my bradford pear and flitted around in the foliage for a minute. Although I do have Waterthrush in the yard each year and often in the pear trees, I have never had one come so close. An exciting moment and a wonderful start to the day. Happy holiday!!
