Looked for Piping Plover, but missed again (0-3 now). It was high tide, does that make any difference? From there, took back roads from Newark down to Vaughn WMA. I wound up doing a couple hours of landbirding. Nothing unusual, but I was surprised by the amount of singing being done late on a warm summer morning (9:30 - 11:30). Interesting finds were several Chats (at least 6 on Truitt's Landing Rd.), Grasshopper Sp in a pasture just south of Public Landing, and numerous Bobwhites through the countryside. In the marshes, had a King Rail at the end on Scott Landing Rd and a Virginia at the end of Truitt's Landing Rd. Also got a Salt. Sharp Tailed Sp there. It actually sat up on three different perches where I was able to briefly get the scope on it each time. Nice looks for this bird and the only target I was able to hit. In all, a nice day with 92 species finished off by hearing the Whip from inside the house during a break in the Daytona race!
