Had a total of 7 = pelicans: three sets of two in the first 15 minutes, a single bird just = before 1050, and none in the final 30 minutes. All were well off the = beach (distances well beyond a kilometer and some more than twice that) = and probably not visible from the bottom of the cliffs. They generally = remained 7 to 10+ meters above the water, were gliding only occasionally = and for short intervals, and ignored the boats they passed near or over = (70 to 90 were visible from my vantage point). =20 Sherman Suter Alexandria VA 22307 ssuter@aaas.org ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
