I was birding and he was fishing. What a beautiful, peaceful river - and full of birds. I saw or heard the following: Great Crested Flycatcher - at least 6 Great Blue Heron - lots Prothonotary Warbler - 2 Yellow-billed Cuckoo - 4 Green-backed Heron - 2 Kildeer - 1 Bob-White Quail - 2 Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 1 Summer Tanager - 2 Blue Jays Turkey Vultures Carolina Wrens Carolina Chickadees On Saturday, July 8, we kayaked on the Chickamacomico River, also in Dorchester County, also a beautiful, quiet river. There was more boat traffic on this river, however, possibly because it was a weekend.
