Reportedly, there is a group of about half a dozen in a neighborhood a couple of miles away, and they all came from a woman who was raising them. I don't know if she released them intentionally or if they got away accidentally. My son was the first in our family to see one, and he called me at work to say "You're never going to believe what's at our bird feeder." The bird has been scrounging feed from under our feeders and hanging out in the fields and woods. He has several interesting calls, including one that sounds like "Yee-hah" (complete with cowboy accent). I'd be interested to hear from anyone who knows what these things eat.
