I was very surprised. After running my transects, I stopped and pished where a Worm eating Warbler had flown across the trail, to see what else came out. 2 more WEWA's. Oh, good, a family. Titmouse ummm-hmmm. Ovenbird. Hohumm. Big yellow thing with steel gray wings and no wingbars, yellow right over the top of the head - I actually had to think for a minute there, as I was not in a swamp, next to a river, or in a marsh! We're also starting to have Blue-headed Vireos pop up in sites where they haven't been observed in several weeks. And one site which has had a Winter Wren singing all summer, now has 2 singers. Now the question: does anyone know the likelihood of first-year Red-eyed Vireos or Scarlett Tanagers singing? I am starting to get counter-songs within well-defined territories. I know the SCTA's can be ID'd easily to age, but the REVI's are not always identifiable to age. Thanks, Charlie ===== **************************************** Charlie Muise, Naturalist Frostburg, Maryland, USA And it came to pass that in the hands of the ignorant, the words of the Bible were used to beat plowshares into swords - Alan Wilson= Watts __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
