At the observation bl= ind in the Black Walnut Creek area, I saw a snowy egret in some shallow w= ater nearby. I also saw around 10 forster's terns towards the middle of = the river. Some were flying back and forth and others were sitting on po= sts. Many ospreys were also present. On the walk in, spotted an indigo = bunting, prothonatary warbler, blue-gray gnatcatcher, and a warbling vire= o. Over the last several days at Schoolhouse Pond in Upper Marlboro, I ha= ve seen a very active pair of great crested flycatchers (three times), a = northern parula, many common yellowthroats, white eyed vireos, red eyed v= ireo (heard), an immature double crested cormorant, many wood ducks, a gr= een heron, and a great egret.
