Dan and I saw our fir= st and second least bitterns there on the same day in Aug 1998. The first was a= n "across the wide pond view" which was wonderful and exciting since it was a lifer= for each of us; it was soon eclipsed, however, later in the same walk at another = pond where a Least was hunting 10 feet from the edge of the platform and event= ually moved too close for binocular focusing. You can get to Cape May from Towson area in 3.5 hours, no worse than goin= g to western MD.
