Swamp MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I visited Papermill Rd. Swamp, Balt. County, today looking for shorebirds. Found a few: killdeer 4, solitary 3, spotted 1. Most of this area is a lake (because of the wet summer), but there are some mudflats, too. By far the most interesting bird was a male prothonotary warbler. It had a vivid orange-yellow head and breast with a plain yellow belly. I had never seen this plumage variation before. It is stunning!
