The ususal crew of birds were at the feeders. Unfortunately they filmed at one of the slowest feeding times of the year. Babies are finished being fed, not alot of migrants but at least the common guys came through. A little juv. hummer came and buzzed the cameraman's head. The goldfinch were as enthusiastic as ever. The jays and the cardinals added their bright colors to the yard. I really pushed hard for the cameraman to point the camera at the juv. Chipping Sparrow on the ground! Hopefully some of the birds will make it past the cutting room floor. Talking about the aspects of feeding while being on camera was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Having to actually THINK about what you are saying is realy tough! 4 hours of filming left me more exhausted than at 10 hour stint at Bombay Hook. I got REALLY excited by a fly by GREAT EGRET! As I told the MPT folks ( both non-birders) you never know what you'll see and that's what makes birding so fun and exciting.
