MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I don't know the "name" for this area take 140 north to right on 91, cross bridge and first right down to the tracks... For want of Summer Tanager or other reports (other than from the Birding Police), Diane Jones and I went to the above location today with few expectations. Perhaps that helped because the results were very good. "Interesting" birds included: YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO, House Wren (numerous), PRAIRIE WARBLER, Indigo Bunting (numerous), three Belted Kingfisher, GREEN HERON, and Black Vulture. The "usual suspects" were there as well: Goldfinch, Song Sparrow, American Crow, Turkey Vulture, and Carolina Wren. As a suggestion -- you might want to stick to the rail tracks rather than go onto the ATV trails. The ATV trails have not been used this summer and are overgrown and very slippery in wet spots. Viewing from the rail tracks was excellent and we saw everything but the Kingfisher from there. Bugs were moderate; nil on the rail tracks.
