On some days I barely get through counting all the ponds before dark and saving the time of getting out and setting up the tripod at each stop is important. Ralph's comments about using it with an offset scope are right on. I started with an offset and quickly realized that wasn't going to work. I now have a straight through and it works just dandy. One note though, many times I have to turn the car off because with the engine on, the scope jiggles just enough to make id'ing far away stuff pretty tough.
