Nothing on Smith Island is fast by design. I'm going to try to make this legit by also asking a question relevant to Maryland, but I'm most interested to know what peep species was seen besides Least and Semipalmated at Hunting Creek. The Black Tern spotting was terrific. I started looking for them to show up over the Potomac last week end without luck. My Maryland question: I'm taking my first "pelagic" trip on Sunday to Smith Island. I want to maximize the brief time on the island for birding and don't want the sit-down meal which I understand is available. Does anyone know if there are any sandwiches or snacks on the island or places to pick them up beforehand in the Point Lookout or Solomon's areas?
