For the most part, it was pretty quiet, maybe because of the Sharpie we saw, the first one ever there for us. There were huge numbers of titmice, mostly young and begging. Also a family of Indigo Buntings, the young ones begging. More Red-eyed Vireos than usual, none of them singing although the White-eyed's were singing vigorously. The best birds were 2 immature Canada Warblers about 75 yards west of MD 121 on Kingsley Trail. That is exactly the same place we saw our lifer Canadas several years ago, but that was a bigger flock, and in the Spring (so the "necklace" was obvious). The birds today had gray backs and heads, brilliant yellow throats and bellies, with only a faint necklace. Bob Hartman Colesville, MD PS - Toni saw a Raven in our yard yesterday, only the 2nd one ever here. ======================================================================== To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================== == ========================================================================
