Coots at Piney Run Park MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Rod Burley & I spent a couple of pleasant hours at Piney Run Park in Carroll Co. this morning. One of the more interesting sightings was 7 American Coots out on Piney Run Lake. Other interesting birds at the lake, mostly viewed from the shoulder of White Rock Road at the N.W. end of the lake included, 2 Great Egrets, 2 Hooded Mergansers, 1 Belted Kingfisher, 2 Green Herons, 2 Wood Ducks and an adult Bald Eagle. The N.W. portion of the lake was a little marshy with a small mud flat but no shorebirds were seen. Rod and I were wondering if anyone has info. on where in Carroll Co. would be a good spot to search for shorebirds.
