Tallied 65 species which is one off my highest ever from a spring migration day. The 2 puddles opposite the abandoned yellow house are still active with 6 Gr Yellows, 3 Lesser Yellows, 6 Least Sand, 2 Semi Sand, 2 Semi Plover, a Solitary, 3 Great Egrets and Mallards. The small woodlot next to one of the puddles was vwery active. 15 or 16 species responded to the screech owl tape all at once. The best was a Canada Warbler plus a Yellow Warb, Yellowthroat, female Orchard Oriole, 2 very worn looking Brown Thrasher, several Blue Grosbeak, Indigo Bunting and Bluebirds. Vesper and Grasshopper Sparrows are still singing, but it dwindles each week. Bobolinks were overhead in several spots. On my grandfather's farm, I had another Canada Warbler, a male Blackburnian and an immature BTG. On the DE side, I added a Redstart, 2 Cattle Egrets and a Red-Shouldered Hawk which seems to have recently moved into the area.
