It sure seemed like September today - minus the sparrows of course! I saw my first Howard LAUGHING GULL fly over the house this afteroon. A female/immature REDSTART in the black locust behind the house. A big butterfly day with a nice variety of species in the garden. In the Hollofield area of Patapsco state park I found a ZEBRA SWALLOWTAIL this afternoon. (two in one year!)
