Totals from 3 stops yesterday were 6 Greater Yellow, 6 Lessers, 2 Solitary Sand, 8 Least Sand, Killdeer and 1 Great Egret. Saw one of the Vesper Sp, but it has apparently stopped singing. The Grashopper was still at it, but not until the third pass of the day. Woodland bird activity was nil, probably in response to the on-again, off-again showers. But in the yard of the old yellow house, I found a Prothonotary Warbler. It was on its own; independent of any flock of migrants. It was a bird that I never expected to add to my homelist since the closest appropriate habitat is at least 4 or 5 miles away. There was more activity on Kinder Rd, but it was all resident birds. On Saturday, I went to Pete Gum Wildlife Area (just over the state line from Galestown, MD). Had several nice groups of birds there with 9 warbler species - Prothonotary, Yellow-Throated, Yellowthroat, B&W, Pine, Magnolia, Redstart, Prairie, and a Blue Winged. Also had Brown headed Nut. Made my way back toward Seaford along the river. A couple more nice groups of birds, but nothing new.
