Watching from the deck I did have a lovely BLACK-THROATED GREEN in the locust tree in the yard so I hightailed it over to the "warbler clearing" after the kids left. Not much there though and a REDSTART was my only addition. The GOLDFINCH are bringing scores of babies to the feeders. It is so interesting to watch the parents feeding. I have gone through 10# of thistle in three days! The afternoon cleared with 5 BROAD-WINGS appearing overhead. At 3:00 the BARRED OWLS started to call in the woods.
