Comments: cc: rblom@blazie.com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable This past Thursday, Aug. 31,2000, I was at a property on Diana Way in Chesapeake Isle (Turkey Point, Cecil Co., MD) and shortly after leaving my truck noted a hummer (presumably RTHU) crossing the road toward a nearby feeder. A Common Grackle perched in a nearby tree flew from its perch, pursued the hummer through a handful of evasive maneuvers, and ultimately captured it, flying off into a dense thicket within which I could not observe the ultimate fate of the hummer. Anybody ever noticed this particular behavior? I have in the past seen grackle prey on finches at feeders, but never imagined they'd be agile enough to pull off this type of attack. Comments? Gary A.
