Whitmyre, D. Donham ) and 9/4 ( C. Lee ) are very easy to report- no raptors viewed that were deemed migratory, in fact, virtually zilch observed period. Red-headed Woodpecker and possible Evening Grosbeak were reported on 9/4. On 9/5 ( L. Fisher, C. Gant, A. Sprout and baby K. Sprout, beginning her career at 3. mos ), the picture looked much brighter. This was the first real fall " Turkey Point kind of day. " The cold front livened up the raptor migration and also brought a very nice wave of passerines, the latter counted mainly between 7:30-8:30 AM before ( wo ) manning the station. Although it is early in the season with the high counts of raptors yet to come, there was a nice mix today. . KINGBIRDS seem to have disappeared overnight, while RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS are back in town. RAPTORS: 15-20 mph winds early from NE to NNE and diminished later on in the afternoon. . 6.5 hrs TV- 10 ( kettle formed that moved off to SE ), other dallying individuals were not counted. OS- 10 BE-5 ( mostly flew over when folks wanting to see them had disappeared, typical ) NH-1 BW-5 ( nice to see these, first of season ) AK-5 PASSERINES: OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER- 1 Eastern Peewee- 5 Great-crested Flycatcher- 3 Least """- 2 Traiils Flycatcher- 4 Yellow-billed Cuckoo- 1 Veery-1 Woodthrush-1 White-eyed Vireo-5 Red-eyed Vireo-6 House Wren-1 Orchard Oriole-1 Baltimore O- 2 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher- 32 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET- 7 WARBLERS Black-throated Blue-8 Black-white- 5 Canada-3 Am.
