East on Rt 50 over Bay Bridge and continue through Grasonville. At 301/50 split stay left and take 301 north. In about a mile, turn right onto John Brown Road, well-signed. Continue past little bit of turf, past woods, and out into open area. In recent days most of the birds have been north of the road, past the brick house and past the lane leading right to the Sod Farm offices. Pull over and scan grassy ditch, pools of water on both sides, etc. etc. On Monday the Uppie was working along the taller grass bordering the ditch, the Buffies were (mostly) there though one was by a litle pool further east i n the field, with Pecs, -- this is also where the White-rumped was -- and the Goldens were further out, scattered over bare rather stoney ground. Please do not walk out onto the turf or the plowed areas. In the past the owners have let us walk down the center road *after asking permission* at the main office. They seemed a bit unsure about this, so please do not do it without asking. We met one of the owners Monday who was very nice and seemed interested (asked where on internet he could read about the bi rds) so we want to maintain this good relationship. This place is a gold mine! By the way, the line of trees leading south to north along the west side of the large open area, where there is a dirt raod along the margin, is well - known as a good place for migrant warblers in the autumn. It is (or was) a regular stopping spot for field trips to Delaware refuges.
