On 9/6, 2.5 hrs of observation, Charlie Gant reported 1 Red-tail, 5 Broadwing, 3 Bald Eagles, 3 Sharpshins, and I Northern Harrier. 9/7: Amy Gordon from 9 - 12, light east winds, reports 3 Turkey Vultures, 3 imm. and 2 adult Bald Eagles and 3 Sharpshins. There was a flyover of 1 DC. Cormorant. 9/8: Leslie Fisher- 8 - 11:15 AM, 0-5mph variable winds from ESE. One Broadwing flying due south at 9:30 AM and one resident Osprey and TV respectively did not an exciting morning make!! May hear more from an afternoon counter. Still always nice to be on the scenic peninsula, fun watching beaucoup dragonflies and the following butterflies that I recognized: Zebra Swallowtail, Tiger Swallowtail, Buckeye, Viceroy and Monarch. The passerine migrants, noted for dirth of warblers exept for a few Commo n Yellow-throats chipping, were slow in general as well. They included: PILEATED WOODPECKER viewed as i pulled into parking area. Red-eyed Vireo- 3 White-eyed ""- 3 Indigo Bunting- 1 Catbird-2 Cedarwaxwing- 26 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher- 6 Woodthrush-1 Ruby-throated Hummingbird-1 Eastern Peewee-2 Great-crested Flycatcher-2 Bobolink-15 Chimney Swift-9 Tree Swallow-27 Purple Martin-1 DC.
