It was very frustrating, maddening actually, with lots of small stuff moving around that remained shrouded in fog. Needless to say, much went unidentified!! Towards 9 AM we met Marcia Whitmyre, who was headed optimistically to the hawk watch, then at 9:30 AM we met Parke John as the fog was clearing and better looks were had of a few species. Observations as follows: PILEATED WOODPECKER- heard calling often Great-crested Flycatcher-4 Eastern Peewee- 2 Eastern Kingbird-2 Empid sp- 2 White-eyed Vireo- 4 Red-eyed Vireo- 3 Woodthrush-4 Veery- 3 Bobolink- heard calling overhead- at least 5 Ruby-throated Hummingbird-1 Warblers included: Chestnut-sided- 2 Canada - 1 Magnolia- 4 Redstart-14 Black-throated Green-1 Black-white-5 Parula-1 Common Yellowthroat ( no list is complete without one ) 1 Leslie Fisher Cecil co. ======================================================================== To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================== ==========================================================================
