Webb" Subject: fwd: 2000 Chimney Swifts funnel at 32nd & Elm, Baltimore Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Carol Schreter witnessed this Friday evening and asked me to report it: About 2,000 Chimney Swifts flew into a chimney at the Free State Bookbindery between 7:25 and 7:45 Friday evening at 32nd and Elm streets in the Hampden area of Baltimore. To get there from Cold Spring and Falls Road, just off I-83 Cold Spring exit, go south on Falls Road past 36th St. light, down hill towards expressway ramp but use left lane for Old Falls Road. At stop sign near bottom of hill, turn sharp left doubling back uphill one short block. Then take hairpin turn right, proceed one block to first left, 32nd Street. Go one block to Elm St. and park. (The expressway ramps there access ONTO JFX southbound only, or FROM northbound JFX.) A local resident there reported another chimney at the Mill Center nearby is also in use by funneling swifts.
