If current precipitation abates, however, we expect a lot of migrants to take advantage of the cold front moving through the region. In light of this, we are asking county officials in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area to delay their scheduled pesticide sprayings (intended to combat mosquitoes). If you know of any spraying in your area, please advise them that due to "wildlife conditions, " it would be best to hold off until a later date (or better yet, shut down for the season!) Please also remember to get out and enjoy the show. We would love any reports you might have from your favorite birding spots. To report your sightings, visit: http://www.birdcast.org . Go to "Report Your Observations", and enter your ZIP code. That will bring up a checklist of migrant species for our region.
