There were 8 birders present. Blackburnian (1) BT Green (many) BT Blue (1) Magnolia (3) Blackpoll (1) Parula (1) Chestnut Sided (3) B&W (4) Redstarts (3) Yellowthroat (2) Red Eyed Vireo (5) YB Cuckoo (1) + another cuckoo that we saw fly away without being identified. Scarlet Tanager (3) Chimney Swifts (many) Rose-Breasted Grosbeak (~5) Thrashers (7) Nighthawk (1) Thrushes Heard 2 thrushes talking (not singing) to each other in the corner of the picnic area. One showed itself as a SWAINSONS, but the other sounded similar to Peterson's "Birding by ear" wiry Bicknell's. Since I don't know the difference in calls or sounds between it and the gray-cheeked (first time I've heard one in the field also), we'll leave it at that. We saw lots of movement near the ground on the way to the maintenance yard, but most didn't land within view (had to get to work). However, we found a VEERY, another possible Swanson's, and heard a WOOD THRUSH pip-ing (isn't this late?). We watched 1 GRAY-CHEEKED in the Maintenance yard chasing robins.
