If I had new birds surely PLSP had more! I was pleasantly surprised that it was very busy when I arrived at that late hour. Thrushes, catbirds, thrashers, wrens and chickadees were all very vocal. A partial list of what I saw at the Fort Lincoln area: Wood Thrush, 12+; Veery, 8; Swainson's Thrush, 4; Gray-cheeked Thrush, 1; Brown Thrasher, 30+; Gray Catbird, 50+; Common Yellowthroat, 18; Black-throated Blue Warbler, 1; Black-and-white Warbler, 2; American Redstart, 6; Eastern Phoebe, 7; Eastern Pewee, 4; Great Crest Flycatcher, 2; Yellow-breasted Chat, 1; Northern Waterthrush, 1; Ovenbird, 3; Rose-breasted Grosbeak, 2-4. Warblers were not abundant, but the best bird was a Mourning Warbler. It was in the vines draped from the trees on the left side of the cinder block building whose door has been replaced by one that says "MEN". ======================================================================== To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================== ==========================================================================
