Fruiting porcelain berry in the latte r site brought in two Gray-cheeked Thrushes for close looks, and we enjoyed two different Yellow-bellied and one Least Flycatcher -- one Y-B at the Y ard and the other two empids together at the ridge (great comparison!). Best bird for us was a fairly cooperative Black-billed Cuckoo which flew in and perched above the porcelain vine for a couple of minutes before skulk ing off. Quite a few Scarlet Tanagers around, one or two Baltimore Orioles, severa l R-B Grosbeaks, and a scattering of R-E Vireos, R-C Kinglets, lots of Hous e Wrens but not as many as yesterday and no sign of the Sedge Wren reported yesterday, Phoebes, Jays, Robins, Flickers and Swifts all passing over. However -- a real feel of autumn in the air!
