After arriving at the site in Sussex County, Delaware at 3:30 pm this afternoon, Lisa Shannon and I saw the Fork-tailed Flycatcher from about 4:15 to 4:45 when it and the two Eastern Kingbirds it was near all flew off to the north. I am told that the Forktail was absent from perhaps 2 pm to about 4:15. Andy Ednie and several other Delaware observers were present from 3:30 to about 4:30 pm and so saw the bird. This bird is an adult with a complete, symmetrical tail, in beautiful plumage. Here are directions to the Fork-tailed Flycatcher lifted from Frank Rohrbacher's post on the JerPenDel list (hi Frank!). "On Friday a Virginia birder found a Fork-tailed Flycatcher on Miller's Neck Road in Sussex County Delaware. Today, Saturday at 1:45 PM, I and several others saw the same bird in the same area. To get to Miller's Neck Rd. (364A) from the North, take the road to Assawoman WA - Camp Barnes Rd. (364) -- until you are about 1/2 mile from the Assawoman WA entrance and bear right onto 364A (Miller's Neck Rd). Go about 1 mile. The bird has been seen on the trees around the harvested corn field and around the white and red buildings (#131 and 132 Miller's Neck Rd). It particularly likes the wire and bushes around the collapsed chicken house. To get to Miller's Neck Rd. (364A) -- from Ocean City go north on Rte. 1. To west on route 54, to right on road 381 (old Mill Bridge Rd). To right on Miller's Neck Rd."
