MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I wasn't home from school 15 minutes before I headed out to start birding (just ask my mom). I headed for Tydings via Aldino Sod Farm then over to Swan Harbor. There were only 9 Killdeer at Aldino, but Tydings was at extreme low tide and had lots of birds including Western Sandpiper and Sanderling. Swan Harbor was the real highlight however. Now is where I apologize to Jim Stasz for when I laughed at him when he said to look for Connecticut Warblers in cornfields. As I was leaving, I heard some chip notes where the corn meets the woodedge. I got out, put on the screech-owl tape and counted 6 Indigo Buntings. Then a yellow bird popped out of the brush and the first thing I noticed was the very distinct complete eye-ring. I was in disbelief at this point and continued to watch the bird. It mostly stayed hidden, put would walk out on a branch occasionly when I spished. I got excellent views 3 different times. I agree with Jim and Marshall that it has a Least Flycatcher type chip note which it gave almost consistently. This was practically a life bird for me as I heard one in Minnesota, but never saw it. I will be headed out tomorrow and sunday looking for more Harford goodies.
