I would assume a species like this is the carrier of the virus (south) as crows are non-migratory, except in the northernmost parts of their range -- e.g. Canada -- although they do make short-distance seasonal movements, such as to traditional winter roost sites. A neighbor of ours found a dead crow a couple of weeks ago but the lab tests were negative. Thankfully.
