MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit This morning Jo Solem, Gail Franz and I birded the Univeristy of Md Central Farm (with our access letter!). << REMEMBER THE FARM IS PRIVATE PROPERTY!!>> The highlights included just about every bird we saw! The SAVANNAH SPARROWS arrived in mass with aprx. 175 birds. We lucked out and found one gorgeous GRASSHOPPER SPARROW. SWAMPS and SONGS and filtering in and the WHITE-THROATS will now be a daily find. We located three BOBOLINKS in with the sparrows. The wet (and I mean wet!) swale held it's non-sparrow delights. 4 MARSH WRENS an AMERICAN BITTERN and a SORA were exciting to find. 4 BLUE-WING TEAL and WOOD-DUCKS were in the pond and along the stream. For any and all that want to attempt the field trip with me on the weekend. Boots that come to your knees are a neccessity. Waders would be better if you have them. There are no paths and walking through the vegetation is hard. We will go through vegetation that is over our heads and you WILL be covered with seeds and burrs. Sure is fun though!
