MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit A half dozen Howard birders returned to Mt. Pleasant this morning for sparrowing. What a difference a day can make in diversity and numbers. We had a whopping total of 10 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS. (I think last years' high was 9). Could have been more but were very careful not to count any bird that might have been seen previously. A nice list of birds that included: 4 WHITE-CROWNS 1 CHIPPING 30 SVAVANNAHS 75 SONGS 12 FIELD 4 WHITE-THROATS 16 SWAMP We also had a flyover PEREGRINE FALCON that excited everyone, some MEADOWLARKS and a SWAINSON'S THRUSH. Bonnie Ott p.s. Alpha Ridge park had a MARSH WREN and 2 LINCOLN'S that I did not see because I had to cut out to go to work :( For consolation we did receive the SIBLEY book today and I am overjoyed! The BEST BEST Sparrow book I have seen! :) ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
