MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Yesterday afternoon Ken and I checked out Lake Elkhorn. The highlight for us was the return of our favorite little ducks, the Ruddies. Three of them were napping out in the lake near the entrance to the cove where the dock is. We also saw the Ring-neck and the three pied-billed grebes that Stan reported. The coot wasn't there. We didn't see any warblers either. :-( We caught a glimpse of one flitting around through the trees, but the foliage was still too thick for us to be able to see enough field marks to identify it. To our dismay, there wasn't a single bird in or around Four Bay Pond. I've never seen it totally devoid of birds. Sherry -- Every 3.6 seconds someone dies of hunger. 75% are children under 5.
