First off I found a Blue-Headed Vireo on Kinder Rd in a nice mixed flock. Then along Oak Grove Rd, The Vesper Sparrow spot from the spring is loaded with Savannahs. At least 25 sitting on the lines, let alone what was in the weeds. Also 2 Vespers including one trying to sing a very ragged song (sounded more like a Indigo Bunting ending as House Finch). Was this a young bird learning to sing? Also a Least Flycatcher in the Next spot was where the RR crosses North Oak Grove Rd (back in DE). There is a weedy patch here bordering the RR that had lots of activity including a Grasshopper Sp, Blue Grosbeak and Catbird and another boatload of Savannahs. Further down the RR, I found a second BH Vireo. On my grandfather's farm, I found a Nashville Warb, 2 Swamp Sp, 3 more Blue Brosbeaks, Winter Wren, a Sharpie, and the fall's first Junco and Sapsucker. In all, 51 species, 2 new for my homelist (BH Vireo and the Nashville) and 4 new for the year homelist extending my already record total. I was happy.
